Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Laramie Referral Club

The Laramie Referral Club is group of business people that meet for breakfast every other week for networking, providing new business leads, camaraderie and just plain fun. This is a very active organization. We have no community service activities; we exist only to help each other make more money.

How does it work?

Only one business or professional member is allowed from a particular category; e.g. one car dealer, one banker, one real estate agent, one mortgage lender, etc. Each meeting, every member gets a chance to share current information about his or her business, products or services; lovingly referred to as “one minute commercials.” Members carry a business card holder with the business cards of every other member of the club with the goal of providing leads for each other.

When and where do you meet?

Our regular networking meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, in the morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. at the Laramie Hampton Inn. Members are expected to attend this morning meeting regularly in order to get to know each other and the businesses we represent better and better. From time to time we have other networking and social events throughout the year; lunch meetings, afternoon coffee, dinners and business retreats. These are optional, but everyone is encouraged to attend. The better we know each other and the businesses we represent, the better able we are to effectively promote each other.

Why meet in the morning?

An early meeting, which wraps up before the workday starts, seems to work best as schedule flexibility tend to diminish for most people later in the day.

What does it cost?

Membership costs $100 for the first year and $50 annually for membership renewal. Cost for breakfast at the Hampton Inn is $5 for coffee only or $10 for a complete breakfast.

Can anybody join?

Well, yes and no.  As mentioned earlier, only one representative from each business category is allowed. Also, everyone in the group needs to be comfortable with representing you and your business. This is a network of business professionals and we want all members to have excellent character, business ethics and reputation. Also, this club does not allow businesses that depend on multilevel marketing.

What’s the bottom line for me?

You are welcome to check it out before joining. In fact, you must attend 3 meetings before the club votes to grant membership. This gives us an opportunity to get to know each other and see if it is a mutually good fit. There is no obligation to join and your first breakfast is free!  If you would like to attend a meeting, please contact us using this email form and someone will be in touch with details about attending our next meeting.
